Hickory Lacrosse - Signature Series Construction Process

Cut holes in the solid hickory base

The Signature 7 is the first entry into our premium line of shafts. We wanted to make a shaft that no one had ever made before, and came up with a variation on the wooden lacrosse shaft that is unique and cool.

We begin with one of our solid hickory shafts and create seven oval shaped holes down the length of the shaft. These ovals are all created within hundredths of an inch of each other. The shaft now has seven holes that are filled with our custom fit hardwood inlays.

Padauk, Cherry, and Purpleheart

We made the inlays to exact width and thickness to fit the holes, each inlay is hand pressed into the hole and glued in place. There is no difference in the strength of a signature seven and the strength of a normal shaft. The glue is actually stronger than the wood!

We chose cherry inlays for a subtle reddish color, purpleheart inlay for a brownish purple look, and padauk for a bright orange pop of color. Stay tuned for signature sticks with black walnut inlays for a dark look.

Specialty wood

After the inlays are pressed into place, they are sanded flush, sealed, and finished with polyurethane. We do not brand the Signature 7 because we feel it is meant to be branded with your name, the name of teammate, or as a gift for family, friends, or coaches.
